PUB BRAINS TRIVIA LEAGUE RULES AND INFORMATION

To play for league score you may do so at any QUIZZO location as often as you like. A $3 league play fee must be paid before play starts.  100% of these league fees go directly to the prize pool.

Your team’s scores will be published weekly to our website. Your top 10 scores plus bonus points will be added together at the end of the season to determine your ranking.

Finishing in the top five during the regular season wins you cash, a total purse guaranteed at $1200

PLAYOFFS & QUIZZO CUP CHAMPIONSHIP
THE TOP 32 TEAMS WILL ENTER THE QUIZZO CUP PLAYOFFS. The Playoff Champions will win 50% of the prize purse and have their names forever engraved on the Quizzo Cup!

RULES AND ELIGIBILITY

  • Your team must post 7 scores over the season to be eligible for the playoffs
  • In the event that you are tied with another team for playoff seeding, the team with the most 20 point games will be seeded higher. If that is a tie, then the most 19 point games.. 18 point games.. etc.
  • Teams must play at scheduled locations. Teams that fail to show up will forfeit their round and not be given the opportunity to make-up the match.
  • The team captain MUST BE PRESENT at all playoff matches. You may file for an exception to this rule by emailing leagues@quizzodetroit.com – Exceptions will only be made to this rule if the captain is sending another REGULAR PLAYER (verifiable by quizmasters) in his / her place. The stand-in captain MUST then attend all playoff matches without exception.
  • Team size is limited to 8 players during the Quizzo! Cup Playoffs. Players are allowed to arrive late but once they are seated with your team you may not swap them out for another player. NOTE: if you have additional team members on location but sitting apart from your team, you are taking a BIG risk. IF THE OTHER TEAMS COMPLAIN YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
  • Your team MAY NOT use a player from another team, whether in the league or not (verifiable by quizmasters). 
  • If your team has a cell phone out during a round you will be penalized 5pts without warning. Any team caught cheating will be removed from the tournament. (word of advice: leave the cell phones in the car)
  • Teams may be assigned seats by the Quizmaster on duty.
  • The Quizmaster and League Support Team have the final say in all disputes, scoring matters and game play issues.
  • The option to “Villian” another team will be removed during ALL playoff matches.

ALL SCORING DISPUTES WILL BE HANDLED ON-SITE AND MUST BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE QUIZMASTER.

FAIRNESS, INTEGRITY AND GOOD JUDGEMENT: Any issues or disputes that may present themselves will be resolved by the quizmaster/league/teams in a manner that reflects fairness, integrity and good judgement. Good sportsmanship is encouraged and appreciated.  Furthermore, cheating and dishonesty may result in penalty, and/or removal from the league.
